GREAT JOB @ BOA THIS WEEKEND! We had our best show of the year (so far) and received a lot of great comments that we're going to improve these final 3 weeks!
Of Note: Rehearsal Updates Thank you for responding to the Mini-Camp survey yesterday. We had too many conflicts to be able to add a rehearsal next Friday evening. Since the Hurricane Florence we have lost 2 performances and 6 hours of rehearsal time. Some of the issues we are experiencing are directly related to this missed time. While we can't make all of it up we need to do what we can to recapture some of this lost time. Attached is an updated schedule for the remainder of the year. We will technically only be adding 1.5 hours of additional rehearsal over the next 2 weeks due to the Ring Ceremony next Tuesday. Please make a note of these changes. We need EVERY student at EVERY REHEARSAL if we're going to get better. WCU Competition The WCU Tournament of Bands schedule is attached. Please look at it carefully and plan accordingly. The forecast right now is that it will be cold and rainy on Saturday. We are hoping this will change, but we need to be prepared regardless. Panther Stadium Workers We need to make a concerted effort to fill the stand for the remaining BoA games this year. Our next game is NEXT SUNDAY, OCTOBER 28TH. We are currently 10 adults short. All student spots are filled. Please click the link below to sign-up Panthers vs Ravens/October 28th Band Fees We are currently over $10,000 behind on the collection of band fees for the 2018 MB season. This weekend we will have to pay for lodging at Lake Junaluska which will be around $16,000. We need EVERYONE to pay their band fees. If you are behind then please sign-up to work at BoA Stadium. We cannot begin to run a competitive program that can compete with the Wando's, Summerville's, Fort Mills & Nation Ford's if we can't collect our fees and maximize our fundraising opportunities. Thank you,
The Pride of Clover competed at the Bands of America Regional Competition on Saturday, October 13th! They had an amazing run. They placed 14th overall!
We are so proud of them!!! IT’S BOA WEEK!
We are now beginning the final 4 weeks of marching band season and the Pride of Clover will be attending the Bands of America Regional Championships at Gaffney HS this Saturday. The entire show is now on the field, the props are finished and we are busy preparing for the competition this weekend! We have MANY, MANY things going on the next 2 weeks for BOA & WCU and will need LOTS of parent help! THIS WEEK (please see attachment) Monday – Brass & Percussion sectionals until 5:30 Tuesday – Full band 6-9. We will be practicing with prop and jackets w/lights. Due to the forecast tropical storm/hurricane this will most likely be our ONLY outside rehearsal this week, so we need to make it count. With all the moving parts, please know that while we will finish rehearsal @ 9pm, student will be needed to move equipment & props and that will take several minutes after rehearsal is finished to accomplish. Any parents to help with moving props & pit equipment would be most welcome! Wednesday – NO GUARD SECTIONALS. Due to the PSAT testing, job shadowing & college visits there will be no after-school rehearsals on Wednesday Thursday – Full Band until 6. Rehearsal locations may be modified due to weather issues. If we can get outside, we will be outside. Friday – Final home football game, senior night & FULL SHOW @ HALFTIME! We have LOTS going on Friday night. If you are on the list to assist with pit/props for Saturday, WE NEED YOU ON FRIDAY NIGHT! We will be recognizing our seniors during pre-game and will be performing our full show @ halftime in FULL UNIFORM w/props! We need to be ready to move quickly on Friday night so we can get everything on and off during the allotted 20-minute halftime. After halftime, we will need to be ready to load everything (pit/props etc.) so that it’s ready to go 1st thing Saturday morning. Saturday – BOA DAY! Please see the attached schedule for time for Saturday. It will be an early day and “hopefully” a long day as well! We will need our pit/prop movers to plan to leave from the school EARLY to arrive on site to help us be ready to roll when we arrive. Due to BOA’s field policies, we MUST HAVE YOU ON THE LIST WITH A PASS to enter the field on Saturday. If you do not sign-up on CHARMS then we will not have a pass for you on Saturday!
